Terms of use
By using The Moon Tracker (themoontracker.com) you agree to these terms. They are short and written in plain words.
Calculations, not sightings
Everything on the site is calculated from astronomical models. We work hard to make it accurate, and check it against published sources, but it is provided “as is”, without any guarantee. Weather, haze, terrain and eyesight are not included.
Religious observance
The Moon Tracker is not a religious authority. Crescent predictions, Hijri dates, tithis and other calendar dates are given for information only. For the start of a month, a fast or a festival, follow the authority your community trusts.
Eye safety
Never look at the Sun without a proper solar filter, including during a partial or annular eclipse. The pictures on this site are drawings and say nothing about when it is safe to look. Use eclipse glasses that meet the ISO 12312-2 standard.
Advertising and links
The site shows ads from Google and links to other websites, including social networks when you share. We are not responsible for the content of ads or other websites.
Using the site and its pictures
You are welcome to use the site for personal, educational and community purposes, and to share the pictures made with the camera, with the site’s name left on them. Please do not copy the site or its code to run elsewhere, or use it in a way that harms the site or other visitors. Third-party data and images are used under their own licences, listed on the About page.
Liability
To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the site or relying on its calculations. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any dispute about the site or these terms will be dealt with by the courts of Australia.
Changes
We may update these terms. The new version will be posted here with a new date. Questions: contact@themoontracker.com.
